Prospero's Island - Descriptive Writing.
Isle of Wight Festival 2015 Adverts.
As part of our Literacy this week we have been creating TV adverts for the 'Isle of Wight Festival'. The children wrote, planned and filmed the adverts in small groups.
A Tale Unfolds - Premiere
Thursday 12th February saw the unveiling of the 'Isle of Wight' and 'Godiva' classes 'A Tale Unfolds' films. The films took 8 weeks of hard work with the children writing character descriptions, letters, narratives, diaries, recounts, scripts and more. Parents and children gathered excitedly to watch the films, then have a few nibbles before the surprise of the awards ceremony, with awards kindly donated by the makers of 'Cindy, Ann and Bones', http://ataleunfolds.co.uk/
Mrs Sice gave the awards to the beaming children, who each gacve a speech after receiving their rewards.
The evening was a great success with laughter and a few tears from children and parents. The parents were very proud of their children and rightly so, hopefully we will have future script writers and Oscar winners among them.
The films can be watched below.

Hoegh Osaka Reports.
We were very excited when we came back to school for the Spring term because a huge cargo ship had run aground in the Solent and was all over the news.
We decided to put our topic on hold for a day and researched about the Hoegh Osaka, we then created news reports and looked at what we could do with the cargo ship if it couldn't be moved.
Here are some of our news reports.....BBC news reporters watch out!!!!
